NSCDC Arrests 1,000 In Katsina

The Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Katsina State, has said its men have made a huge arrest of 1,161 suspects with different offences in the year 2021.

The State Commandant, Muhammad Sanusi Bello, revealed this while giving the scorecards of the command in his office on Friday, stressing that in the year 2021, the state command made some enormous strides in its fight against all forms of crime and criminalities as they aspire to protect the lives and properties of the citizenry.

He said: “More than one 1,000 cases of different nature were handled by the command in 2021, they are both criminal and civil. On the one hand, out of a total of 1161 cases handled, 256 criminal cases were treated by the command from January to December 2021. ”

Adding that the criminal cases are mainly related to banditry, kidnapping, theft, drug abuse, trafficking, rape, vandalization, unnatural offences, trespassing, smuggling of petrol resources, assaults, fraud among others to mention.

The Commandant also disclosed that a total of N54.3 million related to indebtedness has been recovered and handed over to the complainants across the state, thanking the people for providing adequate information to the command which has been the backdrop for the success so far recorded.
