Northern District Head Sacked For Aiding Bandits

The Katsina State Emirate council, has announced the sack of the district head of Kankara (Hakimin Kankara) Alhaji Yusuf Lawal for assisting bandits to attack the area.

The sacked followed the outcome of a committee set up by the Emirate Council under the leadership of Kauran Katsina who is also the Hakimin Rimi, after a meeting with heads of security operatives and prominent personalities of Kankara district.

The Hakimi was found guilty of the allegation levelled against him.

Alhaji Bello Mamman Ifo, the Sarkin Yakin Katsina, who doubled as the Emirate Secretary, who made the announcement said the Hakimi has hand in all the banditry actitivities going on the area.

He added that the Hakimi has been sabotagging the efforts of combanting insecurity in the area and the state at large for long until his recent arrest.

Recalled, that on the 30th of April, 2021, the Emirate council suspended the Hakimi on the allegation that he has hand in most of the banditry attacks carried out in Kankara district.

Kankara has been the most prone area for banditry actitivities over the years, where hundred residents of the area have been kidnaped on daily basis.

The most recent incident that suprised many Nigerians was the abduction of 344 students of Government Science Secondary School, Kankara.
