Nigeria’s Aviation Boom: More Competitions As Rano, Binani Air Set For Debut

Kano-born oil and gas magnate Auwalu Abdullahi Rano (AA Rano) and the senator representing Adamawa Central at the National Assembly Senator Aishatu Dahiru Ahmed Binani will soon join the list of competitors in the nation’s Aviation sector after securing their requests for air transport lincence to operate domestic, international and coargo services in Nigeria. The duo disclosed this in their various public notices they sent to the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) few days ago. The public notice which was made available to ELANZA NEWS on soft copies also called on the general public to indentify any laspses that can deter the duo from securing the Aviation license.

For A.A Rano, the notice states that his new Airline will be called “… Rano Air… and Alhaji Auwalu Abdullahi Rano, chairman of AA Rano Nigeria Limited, will be the chairman of the Airline while Alhaji Aliyu Sa’id, Alhaji Adamu Abdullahi Rano and Usman Muhammad Oloje, the Airline/Company’s secretary/legal adviser.”

“This is to inform the general public that messrs Rano Air Limited has applied to the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) for grant of air transport license (ATL) to operate scheduled and non scheduled passenger and cargo services within and outside Nigeria….”

“….Any person or organization that has any objection or representation as to this application should do so within 28 days from the date of this publication”. Rano Air public notice” the statement reads

On the other hand, Binani Group of Companies belonging to Senator Binani Stated in their public notice that their new carrier will be called “Binani Air”

ELANZA NEWS gathered that Binani Air will be the first Northeast registered indigenous carrier, a development which will make the Airline’s debut historic.

The new Binani Airline according to sources close to the senator will form a partnership with globally reliable and efficient airlines in the U.S., the Middle East, Asia and two prominent African carriers. The Airline will also be made up of 80% stakeholders investment.

Rano and Senator Binani after securing their lincenses will join the likes of Alhaji Abdul-Munaf Yunusa Sarina, the chairman of Azman Group, and owner of Azman Air as northern Nigeria Aviation Entrepreneurs.
