Nasarawa: Abductors Of 20 Passengers Demands 100 Million Ransom

The abductors of twenty passengers in Nasarawa State, have asked their relations to pay 100 million naira ransom.

It would be recalled that the incident took place on Tuesday afternoon along mungi sharp Conner Buga Gwari, Gadabuke area of Toto LG of the state.

The 20 kidnapped victims were traveling in three vehicles and were intercepted by the gunmen who match them into the bush and killed one person in a nearby bush.

Among the victims is Dr Haruna Jibrin, a retired civil servant in the state who is now the HoD of accounting department of Federal University, Lafia.

Leadership Friday, gathered the kidnappers contacted the relations of Dr Jibrin, and initially asked them to pay N5 million ransom, but they later changed their minds and asked his relations to pay N40m since he is closed to government.

It was reliably gathered that when they called, Dr Jibrin, told his relations to sale some of his property and pay the ransom so that he can regain his freedom.

The source hinted that for the other victims, the abductors asked their relations to pay the sum of 5 million naira each.

Earlier, the Executive Chairman of Toto local government area, Nuhu Adamu Dauda, in a telephone interview confirmed the development where he said one person was killed by the kidnappers and his body was found in a nearby bush.
