In Abuja, a group of hoodlums launched a violent assault on NAFDAC officials amidst an enforcement operation targeting substandard drugs.

The incident occurred during a raid at Area 1 motor park, where the officials faced harassment and the agency’s vehicle was vandalized, reflecting the severity of the encounter.

The NAFDAC team, led by Mr Umar-Ahmed Suleiman, encountered fierce resistance during the operation, necessitating the intervention of law enforcement officers.

Despite the hostile confrontation, the enforcement unit managed to seize a substantial quantity of controlled drugs, underscoring the persistence of the agency in combating illicit drug trade in the region.

During a routine enforcement operation in Abuja, NAFDAC officials encountered violent opposition from hoodlums, highlighting the dangers inherent in tackling illicit drug activities.

The raid at Area 1 motor park was prompted by intelligence reports indicating a proliferation of substandard drugs within the vicinity, emphasizing the importance of proactive measures in safeguarding public health.

Despite facing hostility and aggression from the perpetrators, NAFDAC officials remained resolute in their mission to curtail the circulation of harmful drugs, showcasing unwavering dedication to public safety.

In a significant development, the enforcement team successfully confiscated a range of controlled drugs, including Rohypnol, Dizapam, Tramadol, Cocodamol, and various aphrodisiacs, representing a substantial blow to illicit drug networks operating in the area.
