In the spirit of Ramadan and economic hardship being experienced due to lockdown order, an International Muslim Organization, Muslim World League, distributed foodstuffs worth 29 million Naira to the needy in some parts of Kaduna state.
The 2, 730 packages of the food items distributed comprised 10kg of Rice, one carton of Saphagetti and 4 liters of palm oil per package.
Speaking shortly after the distribution, the Secretary General of the organization, Dr. Muhammad Bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, who was represented by Undersecretary for Executive Affairs (MWL), Mr. Abdulrahman Bin Muhammad Almatter urged the beneficiaries to utilize the Holy month and pray for Nigeria and the world in general to overcome the dreaded Covid-19 pandemic.
He stated that the donation was borne out of sincere love and feelings the group have for the people who would not be able to fend for themselves especially during the lockdown.
He also observed that the Holy Month of Ramadan gave an ample opportunity for the Muslims faithfuls to pray for a complete healing against the disease.
One of the beneficiaries, Abdullahi Sani, said the food items would go along way in bringing succour to many families.
“As you can see, I am a physically challenged person. Everywhere is under lock and key now. People like me who are the most vulnerable, really need assistance more than ever before.”
