Another Nigerian Business Mogul Cries out, Accused AIG Durosinmi of Connivance with Aare Bashiru Fakorede Alleged Land Grabber to malicious demolished, hijack his Estate, and To Take Business Empire To Sudan.

A few Days after Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote expressed his frustration over intimation from some parties concerning his oil refinery investment and followed by news of possibilities of relocating his business to Gabon, Aviator cum real estate development mogul, Dr Saheed Mosadoluwa CEO of Harmony Gardens and Estate Development Ltd, popularly know as Saheed Ibile is in a similar situation.

Saheed has expressed his frustrations over certain individuals sponsoring by a reknown landgrabber Aare Bashiru Fakorede hiding under his influence his friendship with some ranking officer working hand in hands with landgrabbers and groups constantly threatening him and his business, especially some landgrabbers in police uniform and therefore he is considering relocating his business back to Dubai or Republic of Benin where he is already enjoying favourable support.

The straw that broke the Camel’s back for Saheed Mosadoluwa, According to him, was a disturbing series of events which unfolded a few days back involving one of his acquired property in Oju-Ota, Oko-Orisan village, Epe, Lagos State. On July 17, 2024, a group led by Sodiq Oloto hired by reknown land grabber, Bashiru Fakorede, along with one Modupe Damacio Oni-Orisan, stormed Majestic Bay by Harmony Gardens’s with Armed Thugs supervised by some policemen on instruction of AIG Durosinmi who had been accusing Saheed of not giving him money and share land with him the manner that other developers/agent were share with him.

The intruders, supported by armed officers ASP Adeseiko Joseph, Insp. Sanni Osiegbe and Inspector Oluwarotimi Omolade engaged by Aare Bashir Fakorede led thugs Sodiq Oloto, maliciously demolished significant portions of the Majestic Bay Estate without the presence of Court Sheriff on account that Modupe Oni Orisan claiming to have engaged Bashiru Fakorede as their family agent for joint venture on what Oni Orisan family’s had already sold to Harmony Gardens for years.

Mosadoluwa, striving to address the issue legally, reported the incident to the Commissioner of Police through the AIG himself, CP Tactical officials in which arrested Modupe Damazio and 2 other armed thugs but the AIG order their release and order transfer of my company managers who are the nominal complainant in a previous complaint to the AIG Durosinmi, but received no actionable response. The situation escalated on July 22, 2024, when the same group returned with armed officers led by AIG Zone 2, Mr. Olaoye Durosinmi’s boys. This second incursion resulted in further destruction.

Oko Orisan Community members intervened during the second attack, capturing some of the thugs and handing them over to the CP Tactical team at Naforija Police Division in Epe. Among those apprehended was Modupe Oni-Orisan, who openly admitted in a video recording that she and her cohorts were responsible for the demolition. However, instead of proceeding with justice, AIG. Durosinmi took over the case, transferring it to the Area Command in Elemoro . He then released the suspects and detained Mosadoluwa’s colleagues, Chief Sulaiman Salau and Pa. Olatunde Alebiosu, who are Executive Management Officers of Harmony Gardens and Estate Development Limited.

These actions, Mosadoluwa alleges, clearly show that AIG Durosinmi is working with Bashiru Fakorede, Sodiq Oloto, Modupe Oni-Orisan and one Mike Utomi, and others to take over his Estate illegally in 2 different location, Oko Orisan and Bolorunpelu Onigbedu. Despite clear evidence and confessions from the perpetrators, his colleagues are facing false charges and prosecution while the real culprits walk free.

Mosadoluwa is calling for the higher authorities to intervene as it is clearer that AIG Durosinmi is a party to this landgrabbing business and the Attorney General of Lagos State should take over the case, and ensure that justice is served, protecting the rights of the true landowners and holding the actual culprits accountable. He emphasizes that Lagos State Property Protection Laws prohibit the engagement of land agents and land grabbers and even law enforcement forceful taking over witout the presence of court Sheriff with geniue warrant of pocession sworn in with survey attached, yet this has been blatantly ignored in his case by AIG Durosinmi The situation highlights a concerning abuse of power and manipulation of legal processes to cover up illegal activities and target innocent individuals.

According to him, these land does not belong to him as a company owner but to Nigerians home and abroad that have invested their hard earn on the lands, and trying to hijack the land is trying to hijack people’s investments.

He emphasized that Modupe Oni-Orisan who is one of the spearheaders of this evil activity is the sibling of Pa Moshood Oni-Orisan. Pa Moshood is the head of the Oni-Orisan family and Modupe was one of the people who appointed him as the head of the Oni-Orisan family. The head of the family sold the said land to Saheed Mosadoluwa’s company, Harmony Gardens and Estate Development Ltd with the signature of the rest of the family. Saheed Mosadoluwa insists that if Modupe Oni-Orisan has issues with her family and brother (the family head) over money, it is not him (Saheed ) she should disturb but the family whom he (Saheed) has duly paid for the acquisition of the land. And according to Saheed the head of the family and other important head of the family are continuously backing and defending him as they have never denied selling the land to him.

The entire destruction by these elements supervised by AIG Durosinmi was estimated at over 600million Naira, as part of what was lost during the destruction was a Payloader machine worth 185million naira which was taken away from the site by Modupe and his cohorts.

Saheed stated all these at a press conference held on Monday 29th July 2024 at the site of the destruction of his building sites by these elements.

Saheed Ibile was emotional as he spoke about his passion for the industry which is what has brought about so many of his real estate projects which spreads across the country aimed at providing homes to Nigerians. but it is sad that the gang- up against him has reached a point he can no longer tolerate.

Ibile however said “We have this same type of business in other countries including Benin Republic and Sudan, infact I was in Sudan the day Madam Modupe Oni-Orisan came to destroy my property, and I tell you for a fact that there is no where else we get this type of frustration and intimidation except Nigeria. I am now beginning to understand people who always say they cannot do business in Nigeria or those saying they want to Japa with their businesses. I am facing the same thing too. Nobody loves Nigeria more than I do but I am tired. Once we are done sorting out all our clients and ensuring that what they purchased from us is well stabilized, we might consider a full relocation to another country except things actually get better by then.”

He said he wasn’t in the country contrary to the fake video they were circulating where they were shouting “that is Ibile”. The business man said they kept chanting that in the video just to create an impression that he was among those who apprehended the landgrabbers in police Uniform attached to Modupe Oni-Orisan and Sodiq Oloto

Saheed said that even if the woman in question, Modupe Oni-Orisan had approached him and honestly asked for compesation, he being a man of peace and considering that he legally got the land from the head of the Oni-Orisan family in the person of Pa Moshood Oni-Orisan, he (Saheed Ibile) would have considered Modupe’s connection with the family and give her some amount from the abundance of his own heart, but it is sad that she resorted to violence by destroying his property alongside some hoodlums.

“Meanwhile, AIG Durosinmi has promised Fakorede and my business achievement detractors to deal with me by disgracing and destroying my brand and I have him on record saying it all. Just yesterday, I. I told him that the restraining order by the Federal High Court against him on the Oko Orisan had been serves on him and isaues of his hide and seek should be stop,” Mosadoluwa added.

NBA Replies Rivers Government Says N300 Was A Gift

Published

on

The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) says the money received from Rivers state government for the 2025 annual general conference (AGC) was a “gift”.

A statement issued on Monday by Emeka Obegolu, chairman of the AGC planning committee, said the legal body did not sell the hosting rights for the conference.

Earlier, the Rivers government, under the leadership of Ibok-Ete Ibas, the sole administrator, asked the NBA to refund the N300 million allegedly paid for the “hosting rights” of the conference by the state.

The government said if the NBA was truly anchored on principles, it should demonstrate it by returning the money.

The decision of the state government came after the NBA moved the AGC from Port Harcourt in Rivers state to Enugu.

The association premised its decision on “constitutional violations” in Rivers following the declaration of emergency rule in the state by President Bola Tinubu in March.

Responding to the comment of the Rivers government, the NBA said there was no bidding process or payment before the announcement of Rivers as the host of the conference.

The NBA explained that due to the huge cost of organising the conference, the legal body approaches individuals and state governments for “unconditional” support.

“We wish to clarify that the decision to host the 2025 AGC in Port Harcourt was taken in August 2024 and was not subject of any bidding process or payment of any hosting rights,” the statement reads.

“The host city has no hosting right and there is no representation by the NBA that the Conference must be held in a chosen city.
“Traditionally, because of the enormous cost involved in hosting the AGC, NBA Conference Planning Committee approaches organizations, agencies of government and state governments for support and the support requested for is unconditional and not tied to hosting rights or any rights whatsoever.

“Recent NBA conferences have been supported by different state governments, corporate organizations, ministries, departments and agencies whose budgets accommodate corporate social responsibilities and share the same vision with NBA.

“Such financial supports are in the form of gifts, partnerships or sponsorships. The money from Rivers State was a gift and was not tied to any purported hosting right for the NBA AGC.”

Portable Fails To Meet Bail, Remanded In Kwara Prison

Published

An Upper Area Court in Ilorin, Kwara State, on Monday, granted controversial street-pop singer, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, bail in the sum of ₦1 million following his arraignment on multiple charges, including criminal defamation, cyberstalking, and inciting public disturbance.

The bail is conditional upon the provision of two sureties in like sum.

According to the court, one surety must be either the Chairman or Secretary of the Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria (PMAN), while the other must own property within a Government Reserved Area (GRA) in Ilorin, supported by a valid Certificate of Occupancy.

As of press time, the 31-year-old singer remains in custody at the Oke Kura Correctional Centre in Ilorin, having failed to meet the stringent bail requirements.

The charges stem from a petition filed by veteran Fuji artiste, Okunola Saheed, known as Saheed Osupa, who alleged that Portable defamed him during a live Instagram broadcast on 19 March 2025.

Defamation, arrest

In the controversial video, the ‘Zazoo Zeh’ crooner stated, “This man dey try bring down my shine! He be like person wey dey chop snail with shell—him no get sense. Osupa carry tortoise for stomach. When Apple Music and Spotify want to drop money for me, na him remove my song from the platform, make I no see money.”

According to Osupa, Portable’s remarks were defamatory and damaging to his reputation and were intended to incite public hatred and disturb peace. The police, acting on the petition dated March 21, 2025, launched an investigation through the State Intelligence Department.

Elanza news reported that Police spokesperson SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi confirmed in a statement that Portable was arrested on Saturday in Abeokuta, Ogun State, at about 7:25 p.m. He was subsequently transferred to Ilorin for further investigation.

“In view of the weight of these allegations and the supporting evidence presented, the command secured a valid arrest warrant from a Magistrate Court sitting in Ilorin,” said Ejire-Adeyemi.

“Upon his arrival, the suspect’s statement was taken in the presence of legal representatives from both parties.”

The case is documented under First Information Report (FIR) 117(1) CPC. Charges filed against Portable include criminal defamation under Section 392 of the Penal Code, criminal intimidation (Section 397), and inciting disturbance (Section 114). Provisions of Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention, etc.) Act, 2015, and the Violence Against Persons (Prohibition) Law, 2020, were also cited.

ASP Adeniyi James, the investigating police officer, confirmed that the charges were filed based on directives from police authorities.

The presiding magistrate, Sunday Adeniyi, adjourned the matter to 30 April and advised all parties to maintain decorum as the case proceeds.

This is not Portable’s first legal encounter this year. Barely a month ago, he was granted bail in Ogun State after being arraigned on charges of assaulting government officials and obstructing their duties.

Saheed Osupa’s Copyright Claims
Beyond the defamation allegations, the dispute between Portable and Osupa also touches on copyright issues. The rift escalated after the 55-year-old reported one of Portable’s tracks, Fuji Shakushaku, for copyright infringement.

The song, released in 2023, was subsequently taken down from Apple Music and other streaming platforms.

In response, Portable criticised the Fuji veteran in a series of videos, referring to him as “big for nothing.”

The controversial singer later apologised publicly, attributing his outburst to frustration over the song’s removal and resulting financial losses.

Osupa’s management, represented by Digital Music Commerce and Exchange Ltd. (DMCE), issued a statement on 27 March via Fountain Osupa’s official Instagram page.

“We cannot stand idly by while King Saheed Osupa is being disrespected,” the statement read. “DMCE uncovered several artistes’ unauthorised use of King Osupa’s music. While most were resolved amicably, one individual engaged in cyberbullying, attacks, and reputational damage.”

The management reiterated that Osupa is signed to Sony Music Publishing Nigeria and that DMCE is authorised to act on his behalf to protect his intellectual property.

Portable has been involved in several police and court cases in recent years. In 2023, he was charged with assault and theft in Ogun State after allegedly attacking a man. In 2024, he was arrested in Lagos for allegedly failing to pay the full amount for a car he bought, leading to a debt dispute with a car dealer. He was released after meeting bail conditions.

In February 2025, Portable and his team were accused of attacking government officials who came to enforce regulations at his bar in Ogun State. He was charged with assault, obstruction, and having dangerous weapons. After turning himself in, he was granted bail. These cases have added to his reputation for being involved in controversies.
