Lead Pastor of the Glorious Destiny Family Church, Pastor Akeem Idoniboye, had revealed that a lot of Christians, including Pastors keep malice while in the Church.
Idoniboye made the revelation yesterday while preaching a sermon at the church’s main auditorium in Borokiri, Port Harcourt.
He said: “We have too many Christians who keep malice. We have a lot of pastors who tell a lot of lies. Listen, even though we are in the world, we are not of the world. Bitter water and sweet water does not work together.
“We are not a social club, you can not simply be in church and keeping malice with another person. Nothing exposes the heart of a man than his actions.”
The cleric, who preached on the topic: “Understanding Mercy”, said it is not advisable for Christians to continue to remain in abusive relationships.
Idoniboye said: “Nothing advertises you more than your actions. If you are disrespectful, small thing will happen and it will show. Everything time you react wrongly, don’t blame the circumstance, work on yourself.
“Mercy puts you in focus. It draws God attention to you. Mark 10:49
Mercy will always draw the attention of God to you. It will always make God focus on you.
“Mercy brings divine help. You can be the fastest runner and after a while you discover that you have been running since but what you are running for is not in your hands. Mercy makes us escape distruction. Mercy makes you escape judgement.
“Transformational Characteristics of mercy is that mercy will teach you to be patient with people. Mercy will teach you how to help people who are hurting. Mercy gives people a second chance.
“Any relationship that is abusive, close the door of that relationship. Never stay somewhere and be counting how many time you have been abused before leaving.
“Value relationships over rules. Things are not always as you think they are. This why you must always value relationships over rules.”
