Ahead of the local government elections slated 5th May, 2021, the Kaduna State Peoples Democratic Party has vowed to safeguard their votes against any form of rigging by the ruling Party across the Local Government Areas.
The State Party Chairman, Hon. Hassan Hyat made this known while speaking to LEADERSHIP in an exclusive interview yesterday in Kaduna.
According to him the Peoples Democratic Party PDP, are going to judiciously and seriously safeguard their votes irrespective of any form of rigging.
” We have already put in modalities that would checkmate irregularities that have tendencies to mar or rig the process of the election by the ruling party.
While commenting on the myriads of insecurity across the State, he said the administration of Governor Nasir el-Rufai has failed woefully, and it has given the opposition party, sympathy.
He explained that with the abduction of Afaka Federal College of Forestry Mechanisation’s Students, Greenfield University Students, two Nurses in Idon General Hospital, the monumental increase in tuition fees at the Kaduna State University, demolition of houses, sacking of teachers, District Heads and Local Government Staff. So, I don’t know how from which angle the Government will think that the public will give their votes to APC who have succeeded in inflicting injuries on the people of Kaduna State.
” I heard somebody saying, today Kaduna is the home of banditry, Herdsmen/Farmers Clashes anything negative finds its root here in Kaduna,” The Chairman added.
Adding,” Let me say this very categorically, that the Security agencies and the Independent Electoral Commission to learn from the mistake that occured by some selfish intellectuals call Pro-fessors in Akwa ibom, stressing in the course of safeguarding our votes we’ll do everything to get enough information but we’re not going to take the laws into our hands,” Hyat promised.
He reiterated that the PDP will not allow anybody to joke with the mandate of the people freely given to the Party.
