The Member representing Zango Kataf/Jaba Federal Constituency, Hon. Amos Gwamna, has said that Christ has already paid the price for the punishment of mankind adding that there is no need to allow fear to grip the hearts of the people because of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The lawmaker, in his Easter message to his constituents said many people believed that the Covid-19 is a punishment from God.

He said if God still punishes people then the dead and ressurrection of Christ is in vain.

According to him, “as Christians all over the World, we should be encouraged and have hope that scourge of the Covid-19 shall soon pass away.

” If generation in the past came out from the plaques and all the troubles strong, i am confident we too shall pull out stronger as a people and as a nation in the body of Christ.

He observed that the Easter season is for the Christian faithfuls to prepare their hearts, remain steadfast and resolute in exemplifying the core teachings of Christ in humility.

Amos added that such fundamental values would go a long way in promoting and strengthening the foundation of love, peace and harmony in the country.

He said the season should serve as a reminder to the selflessness, love, sacrifice and tolerance of Jesus Christ throughout His earthly sojourn.

“The Easter period also give an opportunity to send a message of comfort to those that lost their loved ones who died as a result of the global pandemic. Even though the death toll in Nigeria is still low, so many cases are in the hospital,” Amos said.
