The Elulu of Mopa and Chairman, Mopamuro Local Government Area Traditional Council, His Royal Majesty, Oba Muyiwa Ibeun has promised closer collaboration with the state government to ensure security of lives and property of the people of his domain.

The Royal father stated this shortly after he was conferred with an award of meritorious service to his community by the Nigeria Union of Journalists, (NUJ), Kogi State council in recognition of his selfless service to his people which has ensured peace and security of the lives of his people

The Award was presented to the Mopamuro Paramount Ruler at the Grand Finale of the 2025 Press Week of the Council in Lokoja with the Theme: “Kogi State’ s Solid Minerals: How Media Can Drive Development.”

According to him, the Kogi State Governor Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, have been very supportive, saying he has provided the enabling environment for the traditional councils to operate.

He not that as an entrepreneur, he will continue to work with investors to come to the Local Government, to ensure the provision of job opportunities for the teaming youths of the community.

Speaking also, the Vice president of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, for Zone D, Alhaji Adeiza MomohJimoh, noted that the choice of the royal father was based on his enviable track record both as a business man and as a Royal father.

He called on the Royal father to continue to hold on to his principle of love and care, which has entered him to the people people of his community.

In his welcome address, the Chairman of the Kogi State Chairman of NUJ, Alhaji Sheidu Haruna, commended the royal father for ensuring the secuyof the people in his domain.

According to him the Royal father have been able to attract development to his area, through investment in infrastructure and as well as encouraging the springing up of companies, which has provided a employment opportunities for the young people and boost economic activities in the area.
