Killings: Rep Member Seeks Establishment Of Barracks In Adamawa North

Following the incessant attacks by Boko Haram terrorists which led to the killing of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Chairman of Michika Local Government area, Adamawa State, Rev Lawan Andimi, the Member representing Michika/Madagali Federal Constituency, Hon Zakariya Dauda Nyampa has called for the establishment of a Military Barracks in the area.
Dauda while speaking to Journalists on the issue of insecurity yesterday, said a Barracks should be established in Madagali because of the distance between the Bama barracks in Borno state and Michika in Adamawa state.
While supporting the motion and contributions of lawmakers on the need to end the activities of Boko Haram terrorists activities in the North East, Dauda urged the government to provide Michika with enough military personnels and armoury.
He expressed worry that Michika is one of the biggest LGA in the country with 16 political wards  and a population of over 1 million, but added that only about 30 military officers are protecting the life and property of the people in the area.
Dauda lamented that the military officers are poorly supported and funded with only one operational vehicle to cover Michika.
