Bandits have continued onslaught in Zango Kataf Local Government Area in the Southern part of Kaduna State as eight people have been reported dead while a village of more than 100 houses burnt down including ECWA Church and the Family House of a retired General.
The occured Monday at about 10:30pm and lasted for about 3 hours.
Residents say many people who were shot are now receiving treatment at the Zonkwa General Hospital.
A resident told our reporter that the attacks took place in Matyei Village and Abuyab Community all in Zangon Kataf LGA.
Another resident said all the houses in Matyei that are more than one hundred were razed down with eight dead bodies recovered
Also in Abuyab a nearby community resident said several Houses were burnt including ECWA Church and the Pastorium.
The Family House of a retired General, Shekari Biliyock who was an ECOMOG commander in Nigeria peace keeping mission was not left behind as the compound was also razed.
One of the occupant of the Compound who was among the District Head sacked by the state government Mr Umaru Billiyock was said to have traveled and his car developed fault on his way back in the late hours of the day which forced him to sleep away from home.
The Bandits also laid ambush between Gorah Gida and Shiliam Communities where they shot three people from Gorah Gida.
One of the victims of the attack died while two were taken to hospital.
The military personnels drafted to confront the bandits are now stationed in Zango Urban instead of moving into the bushes.
Zango Urban is a community villagers have been accusing of harboring bandits.
The distance between Zango Urban where the military forces are stationed to Abuyab and Matyei is about three kilometers.
