The abducted Rector of the Federal School of Statistics in Manchok, Kaura Local Government Area of Kaduna State, Mr. Amos Magbon and one other lady have regained their freedom in the late house of Thursday after spending 48 hours in captivity.
It would be recalled that Mr. Magbon, was kidnapped along with one other lady on Tuesday while the Father of a NAN correspondent was gruesomely killed by the bandits.
A resident, Victor Galadima who confirmed the incident to THE PUNCH said the duo were released on Thursday evening having paid a ransom.
According to him a sum of N150,000 was paid to secure the released of the lady who is a grand daughter to the late. Father of the NAN’s correspondent while the sum of N1 million was paid for the released of the Rector.
” Sinced her her grand father was shot dead they decided to released the lady after N150,000 was paid to the bandits while a sum of N1 million Rector was paid to secured the released of the Rector.
He explained that o of the victim told them that the bandits took them to zangang community in takad chiefdom just few killometers away from the local Government Area and she alleged that the bandits were young Fulani boys.
Another source said medical checkup was conducted on the duo to ensure they’re were in good condition.
He called on the Government to deploy security operatives to stationed in the Area I’m order to forestall future occurrence.
