Kebbi State Governor Atiku Bagudu and the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, have been defeated by the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in their polling unit in the just concluded Kebbi local governments election held on Saturday.
Elanza News gathered that the both the governor and the minister who are in the same polling unit were unable to deliver for the All Progressive Congress (APC).
Both Bagudu and Malami were defeated by the PDP with a wide margin.
Malami is nursing the ambition of contesting for the governorship position of Kebbi State under the platform of the APC while Bagudu is also planning to unseat the former Governor of the State, Adamu Aliero in the Senate.
“Kebbi State Governor and the Chairman Progressive Governor’s Forum Sen. Bagudu and Minister Malami lost polling Units to PDP in the just Concluded LGA elections held this Saturday.
“2022 Kebbi LGA elections result delayed, yet to be unannounce,” Aminu Musa Liman Koko said.
Report had it that many APC chieftain had to fight tooth and nail before they could deliver their polling units to the party in an election the results are yet to be announced.
However, there’s serious apprehension in various camps as the Kebbi State Independent Election Commission (KESIEC) is yet to announce the election results at 7pm Sunday evening.
This medium couldn’t ascertain what is responsible for the delay in the announcement of results as efforts to get KESIEC official for comment about the development was abortive.
There is indication that PDP might have won some of the chairmanship and councilorship seats.
