The special adviser to Governor Abdullahi Ganduje on media Salihu Tanko Yakasai has challenged President Buhari to fulfill his promise regarding the Kano-Ibadan railroad.
Kano Focus reports that Mr Yakasai gave the challenge on Monday via his verified Twitter handle @dawisu.
Mr Yakasai told Kano Focus that he tweeted in his capacity as a patriotic Kano citizen not as a government official.
He said earlier this year Mr. President at the inauguration of 10 additional locomotives and two coaches in Rigasa Train Station, Kaduna promised to begin the Kano-Ibadan rail line.
He said the project was stopped due to the emergence of Coronavirus in the country.
“The government already approved the money for the project all that remains is to begin the work.
“The minister of transport Rotimi Amaechi promised to begin the project in August from the three places which include from Ibadan, Kano, and Kaduna.
Mr Yakasai’s post has so far recorded 1,500 retweets, 2,890 likes, and 177 comments.
Most of the comments expressed lack of confidence in the President fulfilling his promise.
