Kaduna State Government has announced that all entry points into the state are shut from 6pm to 6am daily. No interstate or intra-state travel is allowed at night-time even for essential services with effect from 1st May 2020.
Following a security briefing that criminal elements are using night-time hours to infiltrate people into Kaduna State. KDSG is compelled to take further measures to measures to deter inter-state travel.
Recent covid-19 cases in the state are related to the inter state travel implemented in the rapid spread of the virus across the state lines.
In a statement released by Samuel Aruwan, the Commissioner of Internal Security and Home Affairs of the State, “that security agencies will respect the exemptions granted for the movement of food and essentials in day time hours.
” However, all entry points will be sealed to all traffic from 6pm to 6am daily.
He further said that, “all vehicles that comes after 6pm carrying food, petroleum products or other essential must park at the entry points overnight. Vehicle on essential duty will then granted passage if the goods they are carrying are really essential.
” All passenger and private vehicles shall be turned back to their original destination.
The government appeal to everyone to scrupulously comply with the Quarantine order to save lives and protect our people from the suffering infection with covid-19 could unleash.
