Kaduna PDP Crises: Restoration Group Raises The Alarm Over Imposition Of Candidates

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Restoration Group in Kaduna State has raised the alarm over alleged imposition of candidates during the last congress by the Hassan Hyet-led State Executive Council of the party.

The factional chairman, Alhaji Imam Lawal, who stated this during a meeting held in Zango Kataf Local Government Area, in Kaduna State yesterday, said the act is currently engendering disaffection among the party faithful in the state.

Lawal also called on all aspirants contesting for councilorship and chairmanship seats in Kaduna State under its platform in the next local government elections to boycott such plans so that the party’s internal crises can be addressed.

According to him, “Whoever that’s contesting an election under the platform of the PDP in Kaduna State is wasting his time, resources because his/her mandate will be challenged in the court of law if the issues in the party are not addressed.

“The current list of candidates is faulty. The national working committee sat and looked at the ward congress list, they look at the report of the congress committee and the report of the appeal committee, it’s on that basis they gave approval of the list and the list was sent to the state.”

Also speaking, a former deputy speaker of the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Dr Dogara Mato, said the party should be repositioned to recapture power, but expressed concern that it was not feasible with the way the party is currently being run in the state.
