Hon. Francis Zimbo Sani was on Thursday at Bajju Town Hall in Zonkwa, affirmed by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) delegates as the party’s flag bearer for the Zango Kataf local government 2021 Chairmanship elections.
Zimbo, having met all the requirements as stipulated by the state electoral commission and party’s guidelines on parties primary election, was declared the winner of the PDP primary election conducted by the Electoral Committee of the party led by Hon Salisu Suleiman Mando.
The primary, was conducted in a peaceful atmosphere and was witnessed by party faithfuls and observers from the State.
Three aspirants went into the contest with the hope of clinching the party’s ticket: Mr. Francis Zimbo Sani, Mr. Yusuf Kantiok and Mr. Bagudu Joseph.
Zimbo got 137 votes, Kantiok 133 votes and Joseph 2 votes out of the the total of 274 votes cast. There were two invalid votes.
Prior to the primary, Hon. Emmanuel Zakka Chidoks, Senior Legislative Aide to the member representing Zangon-Kataf/Jaba Federal Constituency, Hon. Magaji Amos and Tonak Yakubu, stepped down for Hon Francis Zimbo Sani.
After he was declared winner, Zimbo thanked everyone that contributed to his victory. He said his victory is for all describing those who stepped down for him as “genuine politicians” with the interest of the party at heart.
He called on all the aspirants who contested with him so see his victory as that of the entire party.
Zimbo promised to addressed the insecurity challenges that has grossly affected the growth and development of the local government, stressing that all hands must be on deck to secure the area.
According to him all modalities are in place to ensure that the will of the masses is reflected at the general elections.
