Ahead of the Local Government election in Kaduna State, over 600 chairmanship and councillorship aspirants have purchased forms to contest under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The election, according to the Kaduna State Independent Electoral Commission (KADSIECOM) is slated for 5th June.
Over 90 chairmanship and 500 councillorship aspirants have purchased the forms, according to the chairman Kaduna State APC Youth Stakeholders, Sabo Douglas Garba.
Our correspondent reports that the APC in Kaduna state under the leadership of Commodore Emmanuel Jekada (rtd) have commenced the sale of nomination forms for the local government Chairmanship aspirants at the sum of N1,100,000 while the Councillorship forms goes for N310,000.
The sales of the forms commenced on 2nd April.
But Garba said aspirants have been trooping into the secretariat to purchase their forms.
” The number of members coming to purchase forms have been on the increase on a daily basis. So far over 500 persons have purchase form to contest for councillor and over 90 for chairmanship in all the 23 local government areas of the state.
“As I am talking to you those who made their payment on Monday are yet to be attended. Some members are still in the bank to make their payments.
“Sales of form will end Thursday, but I am certain the party would have to sit down and discuss the possibilities of extending the date in order to meet up with the aspirants who have made their payments and those who are yet to purchase the forms.
