The member representing Jaba Constituency at the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Hon Samson Monday Dikko, has kick-started a senatorial campaign, soliciting support ahead of the 2023 general elections.
The lawmaker, who arrived at Zango Kataf, Kaura, Kachia, and Jaba Local Government Areas (LGAs) over the weekend on a consultation tour to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stakeholders there to kick start the mission to vie the senatorial seat in the Red Chamber.
Accompanied by hundreds of supporters, Dikko said he was joining the senatorial race to serve the people of Southern Kaduna in “truth and fairness” come 2023.
According to the aspiring candidate, he was the servant that Southern Kaduna has been shopping for, who is ready to effect the change they have been yearning for.
”If you would despise any financial inducement, selfish aggrandizement and do the needful, let go for a servant and not a Master.
” I have brought myself as a servant whom you have been shopping for,” adding that “with your support and prayers to God who searches the heart of all to see an aspirant who has promising ideas, good plans for Southern Kaduna to give him the office.”
”If I am found worthy for the sake of humanity, unity and sustainable development of Southern Kaduna and will not allow my people to be cheated, here I am sent me God,” Dikko prayed.
He noted that the progress and sustainable development of Southern Kaduna is bigger than everyone as such no one should mortgage the progress of the region for personal gains.”
”Political office is a privilege to serve humanity not to gather wealth for oneself or violate the people’s right. So, I am not struggling for the accumulation of worthless gains but also my salvation, which is paramount, and I will not compromise,” the lawmaker said.
In their responses, the Chairmen of the four LGAs, commended Dikko for taking the bold step as a youth, however, explaining that it was not yet campaign time but for coming first Dikko could count on them for their blessings and support.
