Two boys: Ezra Barnabas and Promise have appeared in a Kaduna magistrate court 1 as a result of their involvement in the gang rape of a 15 year old SS 2 girl in Narayi, Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

Ezra and Promise were remanded in Kaduna correctional centre after the judge had adjourn the case to 10th of June, 2020 pending when investigation into the matter will be concluded by the police.

A gang rape case of Jennifer a 15 years girl by five boys; Ezra Barnabas, promise, Chris, Emmanuel and Chimezie on the 27th April, 2020 I a resident belonging to Ezra Barnabas where each of them took turn of the girl.

The boys were said to have carried out the action on the teenager after giving her a liquid content — said to be a mixture of alcohol and drugs — to drink.

The crime was first reported at the Barnawa Police Station and immediately Ezra and Promise were apprehended. The case was later transferred to the Gender and Response Unit of the Kaduna State Police Command Headquarters.

The three other boys; Chris, Emmanuel and Chimezie are said to be on the run and the police have promised to intensify effort to arrest them so that they will be made to face the full wrath of the law.

However the Kaduna State Government has intervene in the case with the Commissioner for Human Services and Social Development, Hajia Hafsat Mohammed saying that the case will not be handled lightly by the authorities involved. That Jennifer will get justice at the end of the day.
