Ahead of Local Government election in Kaduna State, youths under the auspices of Gwong Youths Council, GYC, in Jema’a Local Government Area of Kaduna State have drummed up support for both the APC and PDP Chairmanship aspirants from the zone.
The youths made their views known to newsmen after an emergency meeting held yesterday in Fadan Kagoma.
The two aspirants, Barrister Ezekiel Dyagas of the All Progressives Congress, APC, and Engineer Martins Galadima of the PDP are said to have emerged as the leading contenders in their parties in the zone.
Coordinator of the group, Mark Danladi, disclosed to newsmen that the endorsement become imperative, in view of their sterling qualities.
Danladi explained that the Gwong Youth Council was concerned about the overall development of the area, thus the need to enlighten the people to give their unalloyed support for whoever emerges winner.
He said the choice of the two aspirants was in view of their credibility and antecedents, and called on all aggreived parties in the pre-primaries that produced Dyagas and Martins to eschew bitterness.
The group further pledged to upscale their support for whoever emerges winner as long as he was from Gwong Cheifdom.
While commending the PDP in Gwong zone for its maturity in accepting the endorsement of Engineer Martins, they encouraged him to play politics according to the rules to further entrench democratic values.
