The Executive chairman Jema’a Local Government area , Hon Peter Danjuma Averik is saddened by the very unfortunate incident of insurgent attack in Goska community which has resulted to the death of five innocent people.
In a statement signed by the Council Information Officer, Simeon Sunday Dauda said the attack which happened on Monday was heinous, barbaric, callous and needless.
According to the statement, the attack on Goska and other innocent communities across the local government was a deliberate attempt by dubious elements to disrupt the existing climate of relative peace and inter-communal harmonious relationship and sow the evil seed of chaos in our communities.
As a people famous for peace and tolerance, the chairman urged Goska community and indeed the people of Jema’a Local Government to remain calm and peaceful and not to yield to the temptation of reprisal as that is the toxic desire of the attackers.
He again appealed to the police and other sister security agencies to intensify their surveillance and patrol towards ensuring the perpetrators are arrested and dealt with as prescribed by the law.
The chairman sympathized with the immediate families of the innocent victims and entire Goska community and prayed for a quick recovery of the injured and a happy repose of the souls of those who lost their lives during the incident.
Meanwhile, as directed by the Council Chairman, a delegation from the council led by the Council Secretary Hon Amos Samaila and the wife of the council chairman, Mrs Salamatu Peter Averik had since visited the hospital where the injured are admitted to empathize with them.
