The All Progressive Congress, (APC) Jema’a Local Government has commended an aspirant of the party for the seat of Chairman Jema’a Local Government in the next Local Government election, Honourable Peter Tanko for sharing palliatives to the vulnerable in the Local Government yesterday.
The commendation was given by the Chairman caretaker committee of the Party, Alhaji Ibrahim Koli while speaking to newsman at the Party Office in Kafanchan yesterday at the event of the swearing-in ceremony of the Local Government Caretaker committee.
Alhaji Koli said, Honourable Peter Tanko donated 130 bags of rice that was shared religiously to all those that it was meant for, without the intefarance of any middle man.
The Chairman noted that the gesture was timely owing to the fact a lot of people are facing challenges of life,
and are in need of support especially that Christmas is around the corner.
He thanked the donor and wished him well, urging him to sustain the tempo anytime the need arises.
Koli then wished all the Christian Brothers in the area and environs, a merry Christmas. He admonished them to celebrate Christmas by respecting all Covid 19 protocols and conduct themselves peacefully throughout the festive period.
In his response, the APC aspirant for the seat of Chairman Honourable Peter Tanko wished the people of Jema’a Local Government, Kaduna State and Nigeria a merry Christmas and a prosperous New year.
Tanko said, as the new year winds down, it would not be out of place for him to acknowledge the resilience and understanding of Nigerian People of Jema’a and Kaduna State, in the face of so many challenges in the year.
He added that it was his honest believe of the people resolve to build a stronger Nation without recourse to hate and violence, which will be their own guide as they move to 2021.
It was against this backdrop that he again called on Christian faithfuls to leverage on teachings of Christ and show love and kindness to others in the universal believe on oneness to of humanity.
