Insecurity: BZ Calls For State Of Emergency In Kaduna

A member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Abdullahi BZ Barazana has called for the declaration of a state of emergency in Kaduna State over failure of the government to tackle the security challenges.

According to BZ, the government has failed in every ramification including education, infrastructure and security.

BZ also said that the security agencies have failed to protect the lives and properties of the people of Kaduna State, insisting that a state of emergency should be declared.

Elanza News reports that Kaduna is now the epicenter of kidnappings, banditary and killings with efforts from the government seem not to be working.

College of Forestry Mando, Green Field University, Catholic Major Seminary, Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic Zaria and other instituctions have all been attacked by bandits.

While people were killed in these attacks, ransom worth hundreds of millions were paid to the kidnappers.

But speaking in a Hausa Radio Programme on Friday evening, BZ said a
State of emergency should be declared in Kaduna State.

“Kaduna is faced with kidnappings, insecurity. Education sector is facing an upreceedented challenge with increase in the school fees. Workers are being sacked on a daily basis. Nothing seems to be working in Kaduna state.

“Since 2014, before they came to power, they said they will give security a priority. The people now know it was deceit. They have failed.

“The governor had promised to take the government house to Birnin Gwari if the insecurity won’t stop but the insecurity has increase in proportion. The governor has failed,” BZ added.
