The Permanent Secretary Federal Ministry of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs (FMSDIGA) Amb. Anthonia Akpabio Ekpa PhD bowed out of service Wednesday 2 February, 2022 on attaining 60 years and spending 33 years of meritorious service to her father land.
The Minister of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs Sen.Dr. George Akume appreciated Amb. Dr. Anthonia Akpabio for her hard work and reforms she brought to the Ministry during a sendfort organized in her honour by the Ministry. He called on the retiring Permanent Secretary to exploit and seize the various opportunities that will come her way now that she has ample time to contribute her wealth of experience in the service of humanity. According to him,”when you dare, you don’t fail”
Amb. Dr. Ekpa in her remarks on the occasion, informed all present that during her brief stay in the Ministry, she carried a number of interventions that the Ministry will benefit from tomorrow.
Whilst at the Ministry, she put her footprints on the sands of time with the various interventions she instituted.
Worthy of note was the establishment of the Website, organisation of relevant training programmes for staff in addition to bringing her wealth of experience to bear in the area of monitoring and evaluation of Zonal intervention/ Constituency projects of the Federal Government.
The Director Programmes Implementation of Government Decisions (PIMGD) Mr. Salmon D. Dashe, noted that the Permanent Secretary’s short stay in the Ministry was eventful and described her as the Margaret Thatcher of our time.
Amb. Dr. Anthonia Akpabio Ekpa was posted to FMSDIGA on 18 August, 2021 and retired on 2 February, 2022.
