Egalitarian Communities Consultative Organization (ECCO), a group in support of Peter Obi presidential ambition, has called on INEC to increase PVCs registration and collection centres across Nigeria, saying that the slow pace of spread of registration locations for the acquisition of permanent voters cards is alarming.
At the weekly meeting of the organization during the weekend, members of ECCO lamented their experience in their drive to get people obtain the PVCs but met with complaints of inadequate provision of registration centres by INEC.
The national coordinator of the organization, Comrade Joshua Ogbonna, called on INEC to swiftly facilitate the spread of PVC collection centres in the country to enable the citizens obtain their PVCs before the 2023 general elections.
“The time frame for the election is so close that seven months will not be enough to cover the exercise. I, therefore, implore INEC to saturate the PVC centres throughout the nooks and crannies of the federation”, he added.
According to the PRO of the organization, Sonnie Nwosu, it is imperative to emphasize on the collection of PVCs by Nigerians in order to avoid eligible and now willing voters from being disenfranchised
