IMSU ALUMNI : Barr. Chinwe Mbakwem Becomes New Board Chairman

The Board of Trustees incorporated of the Imo State University Alumni Association (IMSUAA) has unanimously elected renowned Lagos-based legal luminary Barr. Chinwe Mbakwem as the new Board Chairman.

The news of the development was contained in a release issued earlier today by the National Publicity Secretary of the Association, Mr. Onwuasoanya FCC Jones. In which it also announced the resignation of former Board Chairman Dr Ebere Uneze due to tight work schedule.

Prior to relinquishing his position as Board Chairman, Dr. Ebere Uneze, a Public Servant and Executive Director of AMCON had accepted the position out of love for his association and with hopes of combining both portfolios. Before finding out that the task was extremely difficult to combine and decided to relinquish the position of the Board Chairman.

Sequel upon this, members of the Board deemed it fit to upgrade and officially elect Board Secretary Barr. Chinwe Mbakwem as the new board Chairman of the Association. While Chief KingClovis Okereke another Legal luminary based in Port Harcourt, Rivers State becomes new Board Secretary.

Barr. Chinwe Mbakwem a versatile legal practitioner was the first National President of Association and first Lagos Chapter Chairman. He will be expected to put his wealth of experience acquired across geo-political zones in Nigeria and other Sub-Sahara African countries into place, by sustaining the foundational development framework of the Association, which former Board Chairmen Prince Chinedu Obi and Dr. Ebere Uneze have held onto within the period of their reign.

Meanwhile, the news of the development has hit members with a mixture of sweet-painful transition, with the likes of Abuja Based Insurance Guru Sir Cajetan Eberundu describing the development as a welcomed one and also encouraging members to be courageous enough to resign from elective positions in the association when they discover that they cannot really afford to give their time for such positions in the association.
