A presidential aspirant under the platform of the National Rescue Movement (NRM), Mazi Okwudili Nwa-Anyajike, on Saturday, reiterated his commitment to create twelve million jobs to address unemployment in his first two years in the office if elected President.
He noted that the biggest problem in Nigeria is insecurity, hunger, and starvation, adding that unemployment is the root of all challenge because if people are employed, they can be able to afford food for themselves or their families, and take care of their domestic issues.
Mr. Okwudili stated this while picking up his interest and nomination form at the party’s national secretariat, in Abuja.
He said: “Under my watch as the president of the Nigerian Federal Republic of Nigeria, I will create more than 12 million direct and directed jobs in my first two years in the office and these jobs will be created without me or Nigeria as a nation borrow money from anybody.
“The first issue to tackle about insecurity is to create employment when we create employment because when you create employment, eliminate 75 percent of insecurity.
“We don’t need to borrow money to create jobs. We don’t need to borrow to solve our problem by the time we have secure employment for our Nigerians, you will see that 70 percent of people roaming the street committing different kinds of crimes will find something to do to eliminate the hunger and the economic rules thereby you have automatically reduced insecurity,” he said.
He also pledges to enforce Nigeria’s security agencies, especially the police, saying that police have not been well equipped and under founded, they don’t have the things they need including welfare insurance for police that die on duty.
“We need to have a secure insurance policy that any policeman that dies on duty while performing his duty for the nation there will be the benefit of his family till the rest of his life, “he said.
Similarly, Adamawa governorship aspirant, Aliyu Abba Maina has urged the Adamawa people to support his mission so they can rescue the State.
He said that if elected the governor, he will use his exposure and age advantage to rewrite the history of the state and make it the pride.
In his remarks, the National Welfare Officer of the party, Prince. Chinedu Obi, said, “Over the years, we have discovered that we lack serious deficit in leadership in Nigeria, absence of rule of laws, infrastructure and the educational systems is virtually absent.
“We thank God today that message of rescue has not only resonated with party but even those starting this initiative think that this country deserves rescue,” he said.
He thank the aspirant for finding the platform as the best party, he added that Nigeria should have right leadership to safe the country.
