Residents of Ifelodun LCDA in Lagos state are groaning over the wasteful spendings of council’s resources in what they lamented has become the stock-in-trade of council boss Hon. Fatai Ajidagba.
The latest accusation against Hon. Ajidagba, who has become a spend drift is the gift of a Sienna car to Islamic musician Ibrahim Labaika.
Ajidagba had stated at the ceremony that the car gift was to assist the singer in his propagation of Islam. Concerned stakeholders and residents equally expressed concerns over the unreasonable and wasteful lavish of their patrimony by the outgoing council.
” Ajidagba is a disaster. We are really unfortunate to have this kind of person as the chairman of Ifelodun LCDA. I believe our party leaders didn’t know he was a misfit, ” Chief Sule Oguntade, a stakeholder in the community lamented.
” We are not against his personal life. Did he spend his own money to purchase the car? Does he have to satisfy his whims and caprices and his vainglorious pursuits by wasting the council funds,” he asked rhetorically.
” I tell you that he knows next to nothing about responsible and responsive governance. He has virtually turned Ifelodun LCDA into an annex of Ilorin caliphate. Imagine a council boss brashly displaying nepotism and tribalism to the detriment of the general public.
Oguntade disclosed that plans are in the pipeline to stage a peaceful public protest and as well, send a save-our-soul petition to the state party hierarchy and the State House of Assembly.
