Benue State Head of Service (HOS), Mrs Veronica Onyeke has acknowledged commitments demonstrated by workers in the State despite challenges faced in the course of their duties noting that such efforts have move the system to unimaginable level.
Mrs Onyeke made this known while declaring open,a one day workshop organized by Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria Benue State branch held in Makurdi the State
Represented by the Permanent Secretary Establishment, Comrade Samuel Ude, the Head Service described the workshop with the theme,’Employee Relations and trade Unionism: A partnership Approach as apt.
Mrs Oyeke advised participants to carefully assimilate the discussions aimed at equipping them for future responsibilities in the state civil service.
Earlier the State Chairman, Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria Benue State branch, Comrade Enewa Allison-Onjeh explained that the workshop was organized to discuss critical issues aimed at strengthening the relationship between employees,employer and trade unions, saying she is delighted about the turn out of participants.
She called on the Senior Civil servants in the State to allow their wealth of experience to bear on their duties to enable the younger ones tap from them to excel in their various areas of responsibility.
Also Speaking, the State chairman Trade Union Congress,Comrade Gideon Akaa lauded the initiative and called for regular workshops to sharpen skills of workers for optimum performance.
Papers presented on the occasion includes, ‘Employee Relations and Trade Unions: A partnership Approach’ and the ‘Implementation of the Contributory Pension Scheme and its Implications on Benue Workers’
