Some gunmen suspected to be Fulani herdsmen have invaded Makarau Jankasa Community in Zango Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State, killing nine people.
Scores of natives were reported to have fled their homes to other neighbouring communities as a result of the heavy gunshots.
The fresh attack is coming barely 72 hours after a similar attack on Warkan Community of the same Local Government where 9 people were killed, many sustained injuries, while 12 houses were burnt down.
A resident, Mr. Donald Bityong who confirmed the incident to LEADERSHIP on Monday, said the suspected Fulani armed men invaded the Community on Sunday at around 5pm.
He said security operatives arrived the Village at a time when the criminals have already perpatrated their act and disappear into the bush.
He called on the Government and the security agencies to double their effort in securing lives and properties.
” These attacks is to much for us to bear, no one is longer save in our Community. Nobody can go to his Farm now,” Donald said.
When contacted, the State Police Public Relations Officer, Mohammed Jalige, had not responded to calls for comments on the development as of the time of this report.
