Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State has sanctioned the immediate dissolution of the board of the Kano State Consumer Protection Council.
This decision comes in the wake of a prolonged leadership crisis within the council, despite various interventions aimed at restoring peace and fostering collaborative working relationships.
The Secretary to the State Government, Umar Ibrahim, has directed the affected officials to transfer the responsibilities of their offices, along with government properties, to the council’s most senior officer by the end of business on Monday.
This directive was communicated in a statement issued by the press secretary in the office of the SSG, Musa Muhammad, on Saturday.
Mr Muhammad noted that the chairman, executive secretary, and all board members, including ex officio members, have been relieved of their positions with immediate effect.
Handover documents are to be submitted to the Research, Evaluation, and Political Affairs Directorate in the SSG’s Office and to the commissioner of the Ministry for Investment and Commerce.
