Following the devastating attacks in Igabi and Kauru LGAs that resulted in the loss of lives and kidnappings of several individuals, Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has called for robust military operations to combat bandits across the state.
In a recent incident reported by Elanza News, six individuals were tragically killed in Kauru, with others being abducted during a ruthless attack by kidnappers in the community.
Expressing his heartfelt condolences to the affected families in Igabi and Kauru LGAs, Governor Uba Sani emphasized the need for immediate and decisive action to address the escalating security challenges.
During an on-the-spot assessment in Gwada and Kerawa villages in Igabi LGA, Governor Uba Sani’s representative, accompanied by Brigadier General Muhammad Kana and other military officials, confirmed the distressing events that occurred in the area.
In a statement, the Governor’s representative conveyed Governor Uba Sani’s message:
“We extend our deepest sympathies to the families impacted by the tragic events in Igabi and Kauru LGAs. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their loved ones. The Governor is fully committed to enhancing security measures and conducting aggressive military operations in areas facing threats like Kauru LGA.”
Engaging with key stakeholders including traditional leaders and community representatives, the delegation discussed vital strategies to improve the security situation and protect the residents of Kaduna State.
Despite ongoing efforts to address the security challenges, reports of another kidnapping incident in Ruruma community, Kauru LGA, have surfaced, resulting in the loss of six lives and the abduction of several individuals.
In response to this distressing development, the youths of Kumana chiefdom expressed their profound sorrow and solidarity with the affected communities, calling for immediate government intervention to safeguard lives and properties.
The youths stated, “This is a deeply painful time for us, filled with sorrow and uncertainty. We appeal for urgent government action to ensure the safety of our people and secure the release of those held captive. May God provide comfort to the bereaved families and healing to the injured.”
Praying for unity and protection against nefarious schemes, the youths urged divine intervention to guide the community through this challenging period. They emphasized the importance of standing together in solidarity and rejecting any form of collaboration with criminal elements.
