Governor Abdullahi Sule, of Nasarawa State is expected to reconstitute his cabinet shortly after the forthcoming local government council polls in the state billed for October, 6.
Elenza News gathered from a credible source close to the seat of power that the governor wants the party’s congresses and local government polls to be completed before reconstituting his cabinet.
Recall that the Governor dissolved his cabinet and some aides on the 30th August, 2021, retaining the commissioner of justice, Dr Abdulkarim Kana, two other advisers and some aides. It is not clear whether this retention is in the interim or permanent.
The source further said the Governor intends to choose his cabinet members, wisely in order not to make the same mistake of the past where some of his appointees were unproductive and could not pull weight in their respective communities.
He added that the Governor is also threading with caution because the state is multi-ethnic and multi-religious and these sensibilities must be handled with wit and grit so so he dosent get caught in the web.
Those who may make the new list, according to the source, include the former Secretary to the State Government (SSG) Aliyu Tijjani who may be the new Chief of Staff to the Governor.
Others include a former Speaker of the State Assembly, Ahmed Musa, Tanimu Tancy Al-Makura, Makpa Malla, the current Special Adviser to the Governor on Special Duties, Murtala Lamus and his Youths and Sports Development counterpart, Yakubu Kwanta.
Our correspondent gathered that some of the former commissioners have been running from pillar to post, begging some well to do persons and traditional rulers, to talk to the Governor to consider bringing them back.
