Expanded Meeting which held on Thursday April 21, 2022, has effected a change.
The change, it was gathered, favoured Alhaji Shehu Musa Gabam, (from Bauchi State, North East) who hitherto, held the position of National Secretary of the SDP to be appointed as the new
National Chairman, while Dr. Olu Agunloye, (from Ondo State, South West) who held the position of National Chairman, was appointed as the new National Secretary.
A statement issued by the National Publicity Secretary, Social Democratic Party (SDP), Ambassador Rufus Aiyenigba, said the two new appointments came by way of a motion which was moved by Hon. Chukwuma Ogbonna Uchechukwu, the National Speaker, Youth Parliament, and was seconded by Hajia Maggie

“Members of the SDP family nationwide, and the general public are hereby called upon to take note of this new development in the party. This change in the national leadership of the party is part of the process of gearing up for the
realities and responsibilities of the 2023 general elections as well as positioning the party properly as a credible alternative national platform to redeem the country from its current socio-economic woes and national maladies and to present a new hope for freedom, justice, all-round security and development,” the statement added.
