Free Medical Services: S/Kaduna Youths Berates Sen La’ah Over Ataga’s N1m

Group under the auspices of Southern Kaduna concerned citizens have expressed concern over the recent face-off between the Senator representing Southern Kaduna Senatorial district, Senator Danjuma La’ah and the Director of Ataga Scan and diagnostic services Nigeria Ltd, Dr Philip Ataga.

The group in communiqué issued by its Chairman Comr. Adamu Suleiman at the end of their meeting in Kafanchan yesterday, said the recent fuse between Senator La’ah and Dr. Philip Ataga was unnecessary and unhealthy.

According to them in as much as Providing free medical care to the people of Southern Kaduna is important to the Distinguished Senator, the group however stresses that keeping his own side of the agreement was very more important.

You (Senator Danjuma) and Dr Philip Ataga in 2018 came to agreement to carryout free medical outreach in two of the 8 local government you are representing in southern Kaduna and concluded to pay two two million Naira.

The said medical outreach was to carryout test for hepatitis B and C with vaccination and referral for those with advance disease’s.

You specifically choose Kachia and Jema’a local government for the exercise with an understanding agreement to pay Dr Philip Ataga the sum of N2 million.

You both agreed that the test, vaccination, medical advice and referral was for a target population of 1000 persons per local government, unfortunately over 4000 persons in Kachia and Jemaa were tested for hepatitis B and C and those who were negative were vaccinated while those with advanced diseases were referred.

After the completion of the exercise you still pleaded with Dr Philip Ataga and his medical team to extend the outreach to Kaura local government as part of your 2019 electioneering campaign flag off, of which Dr Philip Ataga agreed.

In Kaura local government over 4000 persons were tested for hepatitis B and C, those that tested negative were vaccinated, while those with advanced diseases were given referral.

Two months after the completion of the medical outreach You gave Dr Philip Ataga the sum of 1million naira as part payment of the earlier agreed 2 million leaving an outstanding balance of 1million Naira that you refuse to pay till date.

It’s unfortunate that a leader of your class and status that is suppose to know what it means to respect and keep to terms of agreement deliberately refused to pay up the remaining balance of 1million Naira.

The non payment of the remaining 1million naira to Ataga scan and diagnostic services Nigeria Ltd is inappropriate and unacceptable.

From what has been said so far whether in support or against both parties involved in this matter, it is now clear to us that the services was actually rendered by Dr Philip Ataga and his medical since every labourer deserves his wage we urge you to as matter of urgency pay Dr Philip Ataga the remaining balance of his one million Naira in the interest of peace and justice.

It’s now two years after the medical outreach was carried out, still denying them their payment is unfair, inhuman and uncalled for.

Remember depriving Dr Philip Ataga and his team their balance of 1million will not make you richer neither will it make you go bankrupt.

That is only way you can finish what you have started.
