The remainds of the Former Delta and Cross River Military Governor, Late Air Commodore Ibrahim Kefas (rtd) has been laid to rest Wukari Local Government Area of Taraba State.
The funeral service which took place in Ibrahim Kefas compound in Wukari on Saturday, saw in attendance Speakers, Senator, members house of assembly, chairman, traditional chiefs and well wishers.
Late Kefas was born on the 27 January, 1948 and died on the 1st October, 2021. On December 1969, he was enlisted into the Nigeria Airforce where he served in many diplomatic assignment as a military. On December 1993 he was appointed as Military Administrator of Cross River, where he served for a year before he was posted to Delta State in September 1994.
In there goodwill messages the governor of Taraba state who was represented by the Taraba state assembly speaker Joseph Albasu Kunini in his remark said the decease has lived a fruitful and fulfill life, he asserts that
“The decease has been one person that has shap Taraba especially in the political party participation. He has served Nigeria well. He has served as a military Governor in Delta and cross river and he left and unremarkable footsteps. My condolences goes to the immediate family who will find it difficult to filled the vacuum. We pray that the Jukun kingdom will raise another Ibrahim Kefas” he said.
Also speaking Senator Emmanuel Bwacha the Senate deputy minority leader who condole with the the family members and the entire state stated that Ibrahim Kefas was passionate with the things of southern Taraba. According to him “Our region is mourning with the lost. We will live to remember him as a legend of our time”.
Speaking to some of the family members of deceased, Ada Kefas the younger brother to the decease address his elder brother as simple and humble fella whose space will be hardly be replaced, he stressed that “He’s a simple person, I remember when him and my father were arguing on who will pay my school fees. on behave of the family, I will like to say he has left us with a good example, we will miss him but his legacy continues”
Air Commodore A K Bello representing the Chief of Air Force in his goodwill message asserts that “the chief of the Air Force and the Nigeria Airforce received the death of Ibrahim Kefas with deep shock. We joined you to mourn the death of your beloved son, he was an engineer Officer, we wish his blessed soul rest in peace.
Various religious Bodies testify the goodwill of the decease describing him as humble and free minded individual. They testify that he ended a godly life, leaving his whole life to support the lest privilege.
