The Kaduna State Commissioner of Police, Mr Umar M Muri, has called for peaceful coexistence among various communities in Kaduna State.
Muri made the call on Monday while hosting some stakeholders from Sanga LGA at the Command headquarters in Kaduna.
The delegation was led by the DPO of Gwantu Division, CSP Shehu Da’u.
The CP said peace remains very paramount in every society if there will be any meaningful development.
“What we the police are primarily concerned about is peace in every community. That is why at all times we will do all that is within our reach in order to ensure peace,” Muri said.
During the interactive session which was to appraise the security situation in some communities in Sanga LG and to see the need for all stakeholders to synergize for sustainable peace, the CP used the avenue to call on all communities across Kaduna State to cherish peaceful coexistence and work earnestly towards attaining it.
CP Muri stressed that, “What we will always do is to engage all relevant stakeholders in any community, should the need arise, to make sure we forestall any possible breakdown of the peace or to consolidate on the existing peaceful coexistence that is in place.”
While responding at the meeting, the Area Commander, Kafanchan said, “A major part of the area is relatively peaceful, even though we are aware of some flash points and are working as much as we can, to strengthen our security network in order to curtail any incidence of crime.”
The CP who called on all residents of the state to collaborate with the police by always providing reliable information that could help in fighting crime, commended the efforts of the stakeholders at the meeting on peace-building, adding that, they should continue to work towards ensuring that all areas of the local government remain peaceful.
