Following the increasing cases of Covid -19 in the country, the Youth wing of the Southern Kaduna People’s Union (SOKAPU) , has called on its members to ensure full compliance with the government directives by observing social distancing.
A statement signed by the National Youth Leader of the Union, Mr. Isaac John, said for citizens to stay safe, they must observed total restrictions of beer parlors, Night clubs, Church gathering of more than 20 people and other social gatherings.
John said the pandemic has since jumped to over 13,799, with 322,278 persons confirmed to be positive in 189 countries across six continents, compelling the World Health Organization (WHO) to warn Nigeria and other countries affected that lockdown approach alone can defeat the growing spread of the disease.
He observed that despite Government order to curtailed the spread of the disease, many religious gathering are taking place adding that such will only increase the possibilities of an escalation of the pandemic in the country.
Adding to him, “Self higiene and self isolation will remain the best form of staying healthy and free from the virus.
He urged the Southern Kaduna people to strictly ensure total compliance with Government order to ensure safety of individuals in the society.
“You can also report any suspected case to a nearby hospital,” John added.
