Coronavirus: 14 Medical Personnel Among 35 That Tested Positive In Katsina

The Katsina state government, has confirmed 14 medical practitioners among the 35 new patients who tested positive for COVID-19 in the state.

Governor Aminu Bello Masari of the state made the confirmation while briefing press men yesterday on the update of Corona virus in the state, said the medical staff contracted the virus innocently while attended to patients who were carrier of COVID -19.

According to him, ” 37 positive cases, plus 40 will give you 77 cases, even though out the figure two were doublicated. So far, we have 75 cases, six were discharged from the issolation centres while five were death.

“Four of them actually died before taken their sample for test and discovered they were positive while one died in isolation centre.”

The Governor further explained that among the 14 medical staff who tested positive, four were from the private hospitals, as he urged NCDC to Intensify effort in establishing testing centre in the state so as to unravel the risk face medical practitioners and the masses at large.
