The Council Chairman, Jema’a Local Government Area of Kaduna State, Peter Danjuma Averik, has urged the committee sadled with the responsibility of distributing the relief materials/stimulus parkage released by the Kaduna State Government for the most vulnerable in his council to consider humanity first as people are in serious difficult situation as a result of the Covid-19 lockdown.
The chairman stated this when the committee visited his official resident to discussed modalities for the distribution of the items.
He urged them to put in their best in ensuring that the most vulnerable people in the designated wards got the food items.
” I want to sincerely say that i am satisfied with the composition of the committee members which include; traditional rulers, Politicians, Clergy and even some lawyers form part of the committee. It is our hope that because of the pandemic, alot of things will be address, Averik said adding that the people of his council who were divided along religious lines will come together as one family .
“I commend governor Nasir el-Rufai for including Jema’a Local government as part of the beneficiaries which has more vulnerable in Southern Kaduna because of it nature of composure,”Averik added.
He also commend the Kaura Local Government Sole Administrator, Dr Bege Katuka for his role in ensuring justice and fairness in the distribution of the food items.
The Chairman of the Committee, Ambassador Jashua Ishaya, said only four Ward which are considered to be the most vulnerable will benefit from the government gesture.
He disclosed that items to be distributed included: Rice, Indomie, Oil, Beans, Garri, Spaghetti are to be shared to the downtrodden.
He called on the people of Jema’a Local Government to understand that not everybody will get the food items, adding that it was not intentional but added that as they received more, they will extend the distribution.
