A former Kaura Chairmanship candidate, under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Joseph Afan popular called ( Factor) said that the cancelation of the 2021 AFAN Festival by the Kaduna State Government has helped in Averting the spread of the Covid-19 disease.
He stated this while fielding questions from Journalists at his official resident in Kagoro yesterday.
According to Afang, the AFAN Festival also known as (Kagoro day) is a celebration that the Kagoro people cherished very well, but the second outbreak of the covid-19 pandemic is real, and has brought so much tears and sorrow in the Country, hence the people must follow the rules of law and constituted authorities by the State Government geared towards AVERTING a health condition that would not be good for anyone.
” The first wave of the disease people thought was just a gimmick, but with the second wave it has proven to be deadly which the public need to take it with all seriousness,” Afan said.
He explained that if people were allowed to mingle in the normal way as usual in past years, those who came from other parts of the World, will help in spreading the disease easily.
” Any right thinking person will know that stoping the Kagoro day has helped seriously in averting the disease even though is like taking a hard a pill” he noted.
While commenting on the political gimmicks of Kaduna State, he urged the politicians and People of Southern Kaduna to deliberately build bridges across the divide, so that at the end of the day one will not feel he has been sub-change.
” The region must act deliberately to attract attention to ourselves, stressing that he looks forward seeing where our people will stop talking about Political parties but focusing on credible candidates that can bring change owing to the fact that political parties are just vehicles one use to get to a political position.” Afang said.
