CAN Raises Concern As 30 Killed In Nigeria’s Bomb Blast

The Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN Taraba State chapter, has condemned in strong term the Tuesday bomb explosion that rocked Iware community in Ardokola local government area of Taraba state, killing over 30 people.
CAN in a press release issued by its state Chairman, Rev Dr Isaiah Magaji Jirapye, however observed that Federal Government is not doing enough to win the fight against terrorism in the country as each day the terrorist keep on advancing.
To this end CAN want Federal government to immediately adopt workable strategies against any form of terrorist organizations in the country and stop their migration, as it lamented that several of them have migrated to Taraba State.
 The Press Release draws the attention of government at all levels to beef up security in the state against the activities of terrorists since ISWAP claimed the responsibility of the attack.
CAN urged government to work in ernest with intelligence agencies to uncover those behind Iware explosion and bring them to justice.
The Press Release also condemned the recent attack by suspected Fulani militias in Kwentwen community in Ussa Local government area of Taraba State where several lives were lost while properties destroyed.
CAN however condoled with the families of the berieved in the attacks and also sympathize with the injured.
It urged the residents of the state to joint hands with security agents and also watch out against bad elements and report suspicious characters to security agents.
Danladi Talus Jalala, who confirm to our correspondent said he was very close to the incident when the bomb exploded, and according to him he saw about thirty corpses not, 3, 6, or 16 as the police claim.
The bomb was suspected to have been planted by a duo who came to the local beer as costumers and ordered for a drink after sitting at vantage position to execute their plans.
After planting the bomb, one of them was said to have immediately left the joint and after few minutes the second person followed and shortly afterwards the bomb exploded.
Meanwhile, the Taraba State Governor, Arc Darius Dickson Ishaku has condemned in strong terms the recent bomb attack.
In a press statement issued by his media aide Bala Dan Abu, Ishaku described the attack as barbaric, wicked and an act of unprovoked aggression against innocent people.
He urged security agencies to go after the perpetrators of this heinous crime and to make them pay for their sins.
He expressed sympathy with the families of those killed in the attack and promised Government assistance for those injured and receiving treatment in hospitals.
Ishaku urged Tarabans to be vigilant always and to report strange visitors to their communities promptly to security agencies and traditional authorities in their communities.
The Speaker Taraba state House of Assembly also condemned the attack, he condemn the attack during plenary session which he described as dastardly act by faceless people as bestial and inhuman, considering the fact that the State has enjoyed relative peace.
He decried that the disdainful and dastardly act by the miscreants came at the time when the State Government has been doing everything humanly possible for peace to reign in the State and ensure security of lives and property of the people.
