One of the Non-government Organizations (NGOs) providing succur to the displaced and the downtrodden in Kaduna State, Caleb Danladi Foundation has mourned with Kaduna State chapter of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) of the death of it’s former Secretary, Chief Dominic Uzu.
Uzu died Tuesday along three others along the Kaduna- Zaria road following a ghastly motor accident.
A in a letter issued to the officials of the NUJ in Kaduna and signed by the Director of the foundation, Capt Caleb Danladi Bako, said Uzu was a passionate Journalist that cares about the development of communities.
“It is with great sadness that Caleb Danladi Foundation learnt of the passing away of Veteran Journalist Mr Dominic Uzu the former NUJ General Secretary.”
“Caleb Danladi Foundation have known him closely for his passion, support and contribution in covering and publishing most of the Foundation’s events. The Foundation is still trying to come to terms with this sad, tragic news,” the letter said.
The Director of CDF, Caleb Danladi Bako in the condolence letter said: “We have known Veteran Journalist Mr. Dominic Uzu for few years and we are devastated to learn of his death. He was a strong and jovial man, always very focused and determined. He was a great person, full of life, he was instrumental in Caleb Danladi Foundation, and he always do his work with diligence”.
“Late Dominic Uzu was passionate about his work, he loved life, and he was a great team player in our foundation. Our heartfelt condolences goes out to his family, NUJ Kaduna State and friends in this very difficult time. We have lost a great champion, a wonderful person, and a dear friend. May his soul Rest in peace. We will miss him greatly,” the foundation said.
