The President Mohammadu Buhari GCFR, will no longer address the nation on Monday, to update Nigerians on the fight against covid-19.
Recall that the National Coordinator of the Presidential Task Force in COVID-19, Sani Aliyu, while appearing on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics, disclosed that the President would address the nation on Monday, following the end of the first phase of the gradual easing of the lockdown.
According to him, the president is to decide on whether or not the country should go ahead with the second phase of the easing of the lockdown.
However, Monday afternoon, a Presidential spokesman, Femi Adesina, took to his Twitter handle to disclose that no presidential broadcast was planned
“No presidential broadcast on COVID-19 updates today. None was planned. Rather, the Presidential Task Force will during its usual media briefings bring the nation up to speed on the next steps,” Mr Adesina wrote.
