Avail Yourselves For Testing, ABU Urges Residents

Members of the Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria community, have been called upon to be medically conscious and report themselves immediately to the University Medical Centre for prompt testing whenever they come back from a journey.

This is in order to prevent a scenario like the case of a lecturer in Area C, which presents a nightmare of possible community transmission of the COVID-19 in Zaria.

“These are dangerous but we can work together to stop this Disease from spreading. It is better to prevent covid-19 than to catch it,” the management of ABU Zaria said in a statement.

It would be recalled that a Professor with the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria tested positive for the COVID-19 recently haven travelled to Lagos.

He has since been taken to Kaduna isolation centre for proper treatment.

In another released, the management of the Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital (ABUTH), Shika, Zaria has said that staff, patient and their relatives must wear face mask before they gain entrance into the hospital.

The management said it is an effort to curtailed the spread of the Coronavirus in the environment.

“As part of the preventive measures on the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) and in line with the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) directives the management of the Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital, Zaria wishes to inform members of staff and the general public that henceforth anybody coming to the hospital must wear face mask before he/she would be allowed to enter the hospital.

“In addition, all staff and visitors maintain the face mask on while in the hospital premises,” the circular adding that anyone found in the hospital premises without face mask will be send out and also made to serve sanctions.
