An Australian national, Mr Greg J Todd has begged President Muhammadu
Buhari to intervene over the continuous withholding of his
international Passport by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission
Mr Greg J. Todd, who gave his passport number as: 1819485, said he has
been unable to travel to Australia for two years as a result of his
travel document being held by the EFCC after a business partner named,
Eric Young, an indigene of Akwa Ibom State petitioned the commission
on criminal breach of trust regarding a business transaction he
alleged he had with him.
According to Mr Todd, he was cleared by both the Nigeria Immigration
Service and the Department of State Services (DSS) over similar
petition by Eric Young.
Todd said he wrote petitions to the Attorney General and Minister of
Justice but yet to receive a respond.
The Australian therefore, urged President Muhammadu Buhari to
intervene over the matter.
He said his inability to have access to his passport has deprived him
the opportunity to see his family in Australia and transact legitimate
business in Nigeria.
“I am appealing to His Excellency, Muhammadu Buhari to intervene
because while he is in the villa ensuring that corruption is fought to
logical conclusion, some bad eggs are jeopardizing his efforts. I want
to seize this opportunity to congratulate the President on his five
years in office,” Todd added.
