The apex court in Nigeria has annulled the sentence of former
governor of Abia state, Sen Orji Kalu.
The former governor was sentenced for 12 years over money laundering
by a federal high court in Lagos.
Luck ran out of Kalu when the appellate court gave a node to the high
court judgment.
The Supreme court, which is the final court in the land, reviewed all
the judgments that sent Kalu to jail and annulled it.
The court which sat today, cancel the Kalu’s sentence and ordered for
a retrial of the case including the Senator’s co-defendants.
